Makeup Of The Day - Essence.

I woke up this morning and decided that I should do something different. I'm sure we all have out own different makeup routines and while I do as well I never just use one brand when doing my makeup.
So todayI decided to do my makeup by purely using Essence products. Off I go and start my makeup and I find a flaw in my plan really quickly.  I go to conceal under my eyes after priming and apying foundation and then I realise I have no concealer products from Essence.
Humph.
After checking the rest of my makeup I realise I also don't have a brow pencil or gel and that I only actually have one eye primer and that one is not Essence. Oh well. They ended up being the only non Essence products used.

My makeup routine is pretty much always the same. Primer, foundation, concealer for the base of my face, followed by setting powder and blush before stating on my eyes or lips.

The primer and foundation that I decided to use are the all about matt! collection. The primer is a thin cream, not to. Thick at all. The colouring is kind of like an opal white, not a solid white but not clear. The primer does dry clear so I'm not worried about the colour. The foundation I picked up is in shade 20 matt nude. When I first squeezed the product onto my hand it looked a bit too orange for my liking, but after applying it to my face and blending it all the orange tiny disappeared and all was good. The foundation claims to last for 12 hours and so far I've been wearing it for 8 hours and it's still perfect. I opted to use my Garnier roll on for anti-dark circles for my under eyes as my skin has decided  it to completely hate me lately and I didnt need to conceal anything else.

I picked up a mattifying compact powder a few weeks ago at Priceline on sale for $3 in the shade 02 soft beige and it's not too bad. Not quite as good as my Rimmel stay matte powder (I feel sorry for every other setting powder because it will always be compared to my Rimmel one!) but it's still good. I have two out of Essences six blushes and I plan on picking up the rest. I decided today I would wear number 40 natural beauty. Honestly it is gorgeous. I tried to do a swatch in my hand for you guys but the colour is such a sheer light brown with shimmer that it didn't really show up, but when you apply it, it just looks stunning.

As I said I only have one eye primer and that's my NYX in shade 03 skin tone. I really should invest in a couple more. Which one do you guys suggest?
I don't think I posted it on Instagram (@thatlittlebeautyblog) but about a month ago I picked up two palettes while at Priceline. I think I paid )5 each for them. I know there's more avaliable but we haven't gotten them in Australia yet. I used three of the six shades in my nude palette, the last one in the top row and the middle and last one from the bottom row. Considering how cheap the palette was I was pleasantly surprised with how pigmented the colours are. He mauvey purple is so gosh darn pretty!

I went with a people eyeliner for my bottom water line in shade 16 coolest chia in the long lasting range. It's int of the wind up eyeliner pencils and it's not bad but it's not amazing either. It requires a few swipes to get the desired colour but the colour is really nice when you get there. I wanted to apply a bright top liner instead of a darker one so I used Essences gel liner in 05 miami's ink. Now in the pot it looks silver to me and I was expecting more of a silver when I applied it. It is in factors of a steel grey colour. It does glide on nicely which I like and it's a good inexpensive product, I think I retails for less than $4.

Mascara. Oh mascara. I was hoping to use the get big lashes volume boosting mascara but I have run out (into the empties box it goes). I instead had to use the stays no matter what 24 hour volume mascara. I love my big lashes mascara and I had high hopes for  this one as well. I think that was my downfall. I do not like this mascara at all. Way to much product is still on the wand when I remove it from the tube. It's also thick and makes my lashes feel heavy. The only good think about this product that I can find is that it doesn't make my lashes feel really stiff like some other mascara I've tried. That and the didactic that I only paid $1.50 because it was on clearance when I bought it.

For my brows I usd my models prefer retractable eyebrow pencil in dark and my Anastasia Beverly Hills clear brow gel to set them.

Now for lips. Yay. I love lip products. I used the Essence lip liner (1.30) in 08 red blush with their lipstick in shade 03 dare to wear. I think the Essence lipsticks are one of my favourite products from them. I love love love them. They last about 3/4 hours on the lips and I don't mind having to reapply when it's not an expensive lipstick. I find them to be very moisturising and very pigmented. I just wish there were more colours as the range is only currently home to 10 colours in their every day range.
